Stuck sketch July Challenge

One of this months challenges at Stuck?! was a circle challenge, which is really not my forte. But sometimes we need to stretch ourselves. I let me tell you this one felt like a stretch. But I gave it ago won't say that I am completely happy with it BUT......

Anyway this is what the sketch looked like.

And this what what happened when I put paper and glue together..... hmmm......

These pics have a lot of meaning to me and My Family. When I was growing up we always went to the Strahan for the picnic. It is always a great family day, with races for the kids, prizes and lots of lollies. Brit has taken to going in the Senior picnic girl parade, and won in 2011. She gets all her Aussie gear on with pride and this year added the addition of her Dad's squashie hat. She does look very Australian!! I love that it's a day that the kids look forward to, just like I did as a kid and now we all share it as a family. Even my husband as I enter in the different competitions like nail hammering, throwing the gumboot, stepping the chain and of course the egg and spoon race LOL. How more Australian can you get!!!It really is a great day. Do you have a tradition for Australia Day, how do you celebrate??

Thanks for coming to visit please let me know that you have been
Have a great day

Welcome to my FIRST ever blog hop!!

Ok now I have never done or been invited to a blog hop before sooo please bear with me.... When invited by Susan to join in the blog hop I thought why not.... and then a theme was revealed....... WINTER. I must admit that Winter is really not my most fav time of the year, especially here in Tassie, and well... I am really not one for the snow either. Too bloody cold!! You would never guess that I was raised on the West Coast of Tassie in non other than Queenstown were it rains two thirds of the year.
So I struggled with the theme to think what I would put together about Winter and then thought that there are some things that I do love about winter and some that I don't, I will get to the don't later.
Recently after completing one of my workshops in Queenstown I was lucky enough to be there when they had a rare sunny day in Winter, which made me think that I do love a winters day where the sun is shining and you can take the kids to the park where they can run to their hearts content, without having to worry about how long ago it was that you applied the sun cream. And you get some really great pics being able to chase them around with the camera without the heat exhaustion.

Soooo..... I thought I would share with you some of the pics that I took on the day that have recently feature on my latest layouts.

I have realise that I do like some parts of winter but find it challenging on the gloomy days to find positives, how does winter affect your moods? I find that the weather really does influence the way I feel a lot of the time and to be honest I can't wait for Winter to be over, Longer Day whoo!!!! bring them on!!! Being able to get home, walk the dogs, watch the kids in the pool while cooking the BBQ now that's what I am talking about!!
But on the upside to Winter there is more time to scrapbook, and I do love doing the workshops at the moment, great fun when it's not nice outside to be playing with scissors and paper inside, with like minded peeps. Here a pic at one of the latest workshops with the girls all busy.

Ok well enough of my dribble for now, and thanks so much for stopping by, now head over to the other girls to see what they have put together I know I will be!

Another successful workshop!!

Another workshop complete in Queenstown this weekend. It did take a little longer to finish lol, only 5 hours. Took longer than I thought for the ink and paint to dry, but hey it is Queenie where it wasn't the warmest. Loved showing the girls how to make more of their own embellishments. Utilising what tools they already have and the over looked fabric!!

This is pics of my beautiful niece playing at the park on a rare nice day in winter on the West Coast
Loving this paper it is Echo Park Summer range. Yummy!!
We made both the flowers seen above, little scrunch flowers and the bottle top. I do love making my own little bits to go onto the pages.
And this page is of my other little niece, with my Son pushing her on the swing. She keeps saying push me higher!! Had to use the left over papers and some of the coordinating stickers.
TFL and please leave a comment and let me know that you have been to visit!

Scrap the Boys July challenge

This month at STB the challenge was to scrap School pics, I decided to scrap one of the portrait pic that my little fella had taken this year, I can't believe that I have never scrapped one of his school pics before... Happy with how it turned out and much better to use some of the pics than keeping the all together in the pack never to be seen again!
Well here is is.....

And a little close up...
Well just a quick post today, had better go and feed the animals and get ready for work. Happy Friday 13th, don't walk under any ladders or cross that black cats path (pretty had for me with an all black cat lol)
TFL Peeps back soon

This weekend workshop

Here is a page that I created for workshop held in Queenstown, a great boy page using Bo Bunny Papers.
This pic is of my Little Fella obviously on his 4th birthday.

All embellishments were handmade for the page.

And then I had to do another page just for me to use up the scrap pieces left over.
Close up.

Here is a another page that was recently completed that I forgot to upload.

Another quick one that I did last week that really made me think about why I do this craft. This is a pic of my little fella when he was younger and use to pretend that he was an egg. He use to yell out to us when he was all tucked up in a ball saying "Crack Me" you would then have to tickle him until he couldn't stay rolled up in a ball and that is when the egg cracked lol. It's these memories that would get forgotten if not for scrapbooking and in this case one that I will now always remember along with the rest of the family present and in the future. xxx

Thanks for looking and please don't be shy and leave me some feedback, maybe let me know why you scrap and then I can come visit your blog!!
